In that local tradition, we believe our region’s students should have access to strong speech and debate programs in our public schools.

Launched in fall 2018, the Initiative has enjoyed great success during its first academic year. We supported programs in ten area schools, including the launch of three new teams.
Here's a snapshot of our region's accomplishments during the 2018-2024 academic year:
In addition to that growth and development, RRSDI sponsored the VHSL Forensics (Speech) and Debate Tournaments on March 30th at Clover Hill High School and on April 19th and 20th at Randolph-Macon College. We were proud to have the opportunity to represent the Initiative, talk with coaches, and cheer on the students from our sponsored teams.
